We hope and pray that you and your family are surviving well during this difficult
time. And we want you to know that your parish St. Vincent de Paul Society
(SVDP SOC) is still available to help people in need throughout our parish
neighborhood.
The emergency conditions imposed by the current pandemic have closed our St.
Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores.
Due to the limits imposed on the size of group gatherings, the north side and
south side meal sites have also been temporarily closed.
The members of the Blessed Sacrament SVDP SOC met recently to pray,
evaluate our resources and examine our ability to help our neighbors.
In an effort to stretch our resources through what will undoubtedly be a period of
much greater need, we have decided to focus on providing help with food only.
If you, your family, or a neighbor are in need at this time, if you are struggling due
to a layoff or job loss, we can help you stretch your budget by supplying a
voucher or gift card to a nearby grocery store.
To get help with food, please contact the Central Office of the Milwaukee St.
Vincent de Paul Society at 414-462-7837.
The intake staff will contact you as soon as possible to get your information and
ask you a few other basic needs questions. They will enter that information into
the central computer so that we can properly track your request. As soon as your
case is entered into the database, the central computer immediately sends out
an email to our Conference with your case information. We will normally try to
contact you by phone within 24 hours of receiving your request, and we will try to
provide help with food, on the spot.
The Central Office intake staff is working from home and it may take them a few
days to get in contact with you, due to the high call volume.
But do not go hungry. If you have not heard back from our Central Office within
five days you can contact me directly. Email your request and contact information
here: [email protected]
If I do not contact you within two days, you can leave a message at the parish
office at 414-649-4720, and they will get in touch with one of our SVDP SOC
volunteers.
For all other needs, please contact Impact 211, by dialing 2-1-1. They are the
best community resource for information and help in your area. They can help
answer any questions regarding help with housing, food, clothing, medical and
dental help, mental health, and more.
We remain committed to help,
Dave Busch – President, St. Vincent de Paul Society - Blessed Sacrament Parish
