Pastoral Council Members Needed
Have you been looking for a way to serve Blessed Sacrament? Do you have ideas on how we can enhance and improve? Then perhaps serving on Pastoral Council is your calling!
The natural rhythm of the Pastoral Council is new people join and those who have been on Council for a while depart to give others an opportunity. Currently, we are looking to add approximately 3-5 new members to bring the council up to 10-12 members.
What is a Pastoral Council? “A Council consists of the Parish Priest together with parishioners elected by the Parish community and those co-opted by the Parish Priest. The role of the Council is to promote the Church’s mission to live and communicate the love, values and teaching of Christ in our world. The Council shares in the responsibility for the ongoing life and development of the faith community, working together with parishioners to provide support for their efforts to live as followers of Christ.” -Constitution for Parish Pastoral Councils (2018)
This Council is your opportunity to impact the parish you’d like to see. The Council meets between 6-9 times per year about about 1 hour each meeting. These take place on the third Tuesday of the month.
To join you must be a baptized, practicing Catholic and a registered member of the parish, at least 18 years of age.
If you are at all interested, please contact the Pastor Father Glenn Powers or Parish Administrator Michael Federman. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
