Parish Office: Aid the parish secretary in the day to day working of the Parish Office. This highly appreciated work is always in need of volunteers. Substitutes during scheduled off time. Work includes sedentary tasks such as; answering phones, doors, greeting visitors, assist with
mailings. The possibility of expanding office hours during Sunday morning Mass times.
Blessed Sacrament School: Various opportunities ranging from breakfast/lunch helpers, classroom aids, after school care. It is mandatory that a volunteer attend a Safe Environment Education session from the Archdiocese. Classes are free and are offered at various parishes and
times throughout the year.
Building & Grounds: Parish members with varying skills who work with the Maintenance Department for select projects to be accomplished. Volunteers to do painting, minor carpentry, cleaning, general repairs, and especially those who work in the field of carpentry and electrician. Commitment: varies based on project.
Pastoral Council: The Pastoral Council functions as a consultative and planning body assisting the pastor to make certain that the mission of Christ is being carried out effectively and the faith needs of the parishioners are being met.
A Pastoral Council does the following:
1) Fulfills the pastoral mission of Jesus and the Church in a specific part of
the Archdiocese.
2) Strives to build a community of disciples who recognize their baptismal
calls to lives of holiness, witness and service.
3) Engages in a continuous process of pastoral planning, which takes into account the needs and priorities of its parishioners, the Archdiocese, the broader community and the world. Members of the council are discerned members of the parish. Therefore they know the people of the parish and provide valuable insight and knowledge about the pastoral activities. Openings will be announced as they become available.
Trustees: The trustees (secretary and treasurer) are to assist the pastor of the church and are expected to see that accurate records of all receipts and disbursement are maintained. It is their responsibility to see that required governmental reports are filed and that Archdiocesan, Sate
and Federal Laws governing operations are adhered to. They are to be represented at meeting of the Parish Council, Administrative Services and Finance Committee. Openings will be announced as they become available.
is responsible for making recommendations to the Pastoral Council regarding parish finances, major spending, budget, stewardship of resources, and capital improvements to the infrastructure. Commitment: meetings are held on an as need basis.
